Landon's Puzzle Pieces

Collecting and sharing sensory supports for children with autism

Thank you for visiting Puzzle Pieces. Our story is one of many within the autism community—offering connection for those who relate, hope for families just beginning this journey, and a way for others to join us in building a clearer, more supported path forward.

How It Started

In 2017, our son was diagnosed with autism. If you’ve been in that moment—as a parent, family member, or friend—you know the wave of emotions that can follow, along with the question: What do we do next?

We were blessed with a supportive family and community who asked, “How can we help?” While our son is considered high-functioning, he still faces daily challenges that others may not. Over time, we’ve celebrated meaningful progress, and we continue working to help him reach his fullest potential.

A Birthday Wish That Became a Mission

In the summer of 2020, as he was about to turn eight, we asked what he wanted for his birthday. His answer surprised us:

He wanted to help other kids like him find their “super powers.”

To him, super powers are sensory items that help him manage overstimulation and feel more grounded in the world around him. That simple wish became the beginning of Landon’s Puzzle Pieces—a growing effort to collect and provide sensory supports to children and families who need them.

What started locally quickly spread across Alabama through donations, community drives, and people who wanted to be part of something tangible and hopeful.

Growing Beyond Alabama

In 2021, Puzzle Pieces began expanding beyond Alabama through partnerships with educators, local businesses, and community supporters—including professional athletes. As our reach grew into additional communities and states, these relationships helped us deliver sensory supports to more children and families and connect with schools and organizations looking for meaningful, practical ways to serve students with autism.

In Washington County, Maryland, our work helped spark a community-wide initiative called Landon’s Project—a shared commitment among health care and education professionals to collaborate and respond in real time to students with the most intense needs across the district.

Impact So Far

Because of generous individuals and businesses across the country, we’ve been able to provide thousands of sensory items to autism outreach organizations and schools. These partners then place the items directly with the children who will benefit most.

And we’re just getting started.

How You Can Help

Puzzle Pieces was incorporated in September 2023 and has filed for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Our goal is simple: help as many families as we can—right where they are.

100% of every donation goes directly to children and families with autism in the communities we serve.
